FOOD CART VENDOR GUIELINES

Mission:  The goal of MISSISSIPPI MARKEPLACE is to create a vibrant, affordable high quality location for vendors that promotes local businesses and supports the North Mississippi community.

1.  Guidelines for your food Cart Trailer:

  • Attractive clean site and trailer in good repair 
  • Awning if possible
  • Water & gas in rear
  • Seating provided for 4-8 people
  • Post menu in prominent location
  • Clean up at beginning and end of each day
  • Maintain set schedule of hours open & closed
  • Post menus and services at site and on web site, or on social network site such as twitter
  • Have telephone on site for communication
  • Be aware of site evacuation plan
  • Location assignment made once but may be changed
  • Monthly rent depends on location and is payable in advance
  • Water/Sewer/Overhead security lights/Security camera/Landscaping cost will be prorated per month
  • Secure own site after closing
  • Have liability insurance
  • One years’ lease preferred

2. Guidelines Food service

  • Use recyclable serving containers
  • Utilize local food sources whenever possible
  • Leftover food to go to compost or Food Bank programs

3.  Trash

  • Compost & recycle most trash
  • Trash collection will be combined with  other food carts & fee pro-rated
  • Business responsible for clean up around own site before, during & after hours
